Some Bible teachers believe that each of the days of Creation was 1,000 years long, presumably to fit in with the modern theory of Evolution.
They use the following text as justification for their theory: “But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day,” 2 Peter 3:8
This theory still has several problems:
- According to this theory, the Universe is thus 6,000 years from day 1 to day 6 (the Creation of Adam), and 6,000 years from day 6 to the present (using the above calculations).
- Adam and Eve were therefore not created at the beginning of the Creation, as stated by Jesus Christ. They were created at the middle of the Creation!
- They are still nearly 20 billion miles adrift from most Evolutionists! Also, God created the vegetation on Day 3, and the Sun on Day 4.
- How do followers of this theory suppose that the vegetation survived for 1,000 years with no sunlight?
